JUBA YOUTHS LEARN LEATHER BALLS CRAFT

Forty South Sudanese youths have learned how to make and repair balls for football and volleyball games together with other leather craft skills.

Leather craftsman and trainer Yohannes Alemnek Kassa told CRN that he works with hides from different animals, including cow, sheep and goat skins.

The Ethiopian national has been in Juba for over three years but he said he could not find any local leather craft projects.

Mr Alemnek started his own workshop in Juba teach the craft and produce leather objects.

Mr. Alemnek said he trained 40 young people in ball making and repairing for football and volleyball sports.

He added that two trainees are working with him.

Mr. Alemnek said he welcomes any youths interested in learning leather craft techniques.

He has his workshop at Jebel Market, in Juba.
