The Catholic Bishop of Yei has appealed to the faithful, clergy, and the religious to prepare for the Year of Faith that starts in October.

Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe yesterday introduced the letter Pope Benedict wrote last October to announce the Year of Faith to the participants at the diocesan assembly.

He explained that great events in the Church are prepared very well and in advance in order to go well.

Bishop Ludo said Pope Benedict starts the Year of Faith on October 11.

He asked the Church personnel to prepare very well during the following months in order to celebrate the Year of Faith.

Bishop Lodu explained that the Year of Faith aims to help the faithful to deepen their understanding of what the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches about faith.

He appealed to diocesan staff to be ready to open the Year of Faith following the launch by Pope Benedict on October 11.
