Holy Trinity Peace Village in Kuron of Kapoeta East County is a practical example to fulfil Dr John Granag’s vision to take the town to the villages.

SPLM Deputy Secretary General was in Kuron during the weekend to represent the Government at the 75-years’ celebration of retired Bishop Paride Taban.

Dr. Itto told CRN that what Bishop Taban is doing in Kuron Peace Village is very remarkable.

She said what she saw in Kuron was a clear demonstration of sacrifice of one man who believes in equal development for all.

She added that Kuron proves that all tribes in this country can live peacefully if services and education are provided to the people.

Dr Itto said Bishop Taban’s Kuron Peace Village should make the government to rethink its development concepts.

She said it might not be possible to develop everything at once, but the Government should provide basic services for the people learn how to live together in harmony.

Dr Itto said Bishop Taban’s work in Kuron challenges the political leaders and their style of leadership.

She added that it is a lesson that they are not doing enough for the people and leadership is not about comfort but working and sitting down with people and listening to their problems and find solutions.

Dr Itto said if the government tried Bishop Taban’s model it could bring peace in many areas of South Sudan.
