Citizens of Yei River County yesterday participated in a thanksgiving celebration to support the decision taken by the Government of South Sudan to close down the oil pipelines and stop oil production.
County commissioner Elia Wai Wai told the gathering that the Government’s decision was an act of independence and thanked God for the vision displayed by President Salva Kiir Mayardit.The commissioner urged the people and the leaders in the county to support the Government’s decision.
More than 100 people gathered for the thanksgiving celebration in Yei Freedom Square.
