Authorities in Wau, Western Bahr el Ghazal state, confiscated over 4,000 packages of rotten eggs in Jaw market.

Director for poultry production at the state’s animal resources ministry, Ann Nyang Dieu, told Radio Voice of Hope yesterday that the ministry did the inspection only in one shop after citizens complained during Christmas about the rotten eggs.

She said that no trader is allowed to sell eggs and chickens without license from the poultry section in the ministry.

Ms Nyang explained that during the inspection in Jaw market the authorities found 400 expired packages of eggs brought by the trader illegally into Wau.

She added that the poultry section will arrange a campaign in the coming days to ensure that all poultry products entering the state are safe for consumption.
