The youth of Lakes State has been challenged to take up farming in order to achieve full independence through food autonomy.
Wulu County Commissioner Ezekiel Thiang Mangar named laziness as the greatest stumbling block to development in his county, urging the youth to get involved in farming to fight poverty. He warned young people to stop playing dominos and start planning for next cultivation season.
Mr Thiang advised the youth to improve the County’s food sufficiency by working the fields.
He added that now was the time to buy all the tools needed to till the land.
Mr Thiang was addressing a gathering at Wulu Freedom Square on Monday during the celebrations to mark the seventh anniversary of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
