Foreigners working in Western Bahr el Ghazal state have been urged to register with the ministry of labour in order to be issued legal working documents.

Moris Yiel Akol, minister of finance and acting minster of public service, said in a press conference yesterday in Wau that the ministry is targeting professional and non professional expatriates who are working in the state in the private sector and with NGOs.

Mr Yiel said the registration will enable the state to know how many foreign workers are in the state.

He added that the registration will help the ministry to plan on how to make jobs available for the local people.

Mr Yiel announced that the registration starts on January 10 and will conclude in the end of the month.

The minister said those who did not register would face the law.

Mr Yiel explained that there is a need to organize everything systematically so that the new country can improve and function like other countries.
