Victims of the tribal clashes between Murle and Lou Nuer communities are in a critical situation under trees without any medical care following fresh attacks in Pibor, Jonglei State.

MSF, Doctors without Borders, withdrew its medical staff from Pibor due to insecurity leaving the wounded with no medical attention under trees.

Pibor County Director Allan Keri told Bakhita Radio over the phone that Lou Nuer fighters were threatening to advance towards Pibor town and people were running to the bush without any food or water.

Mr. Keri said he feared that the Lou Nuer could advance towards Pibor which is 25 miles from Likwangule Payam, which they occupied two days ago.

Yesterday the Red Cross said the humanitarian situation in Pibor County was alarming and could worsen if the Government did not take steps to arrest ethnic violence in the area.
