The disarmament process was not yet completed in Tonj South County, Warrap State, due to some inconveniences that are occurring in two payams.

Tonj South County Commissioner Akec Tong Aleu told Radio Don Bosco that the disarmament process is still to take place in two payams fort what he called unspecified inconveniences.

Mr. Tong said four days ago there was a shooting incident in a village in the county.

He added that the organized forces were instructed to disarm by force anyone who is still holding an illegal gun.

He explained that those who still have guns are going to be arrested because they disobeyed an order issued by the President of the Republic decreeing voluntary disarmament across South Sudan.

Mr. Tong warned those holding guns that they will be punished with six months in prison.

He urged residents to hand in their guns before the deployment of troops to disarm civilians by force.
