CHINESE INVESTORS ARRIVE IN JUBA

Thirty Chinese investors from different sectors arrived yesterday in Juba to explore deals opportunities in South Sudan.

The delegation was led by Shi Yonghong and was welcomed by the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Investment.

Mr. Shi said through a translator that the team comprised of experts and businessmen who will invest in areas of farming, electricity, transport, construction; automobile and building.

He added that the Chinese companies have broad investment chances in South Sudan especially in the fields of electricity, telecommunications and finance.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Investment Simon Nyang pointed out areas like agriculture, infrastructure, roads, electricity, transport, tourism as key areas for investment opportunities in the country.

This is the third large batch of foreign investors to arrive in South Sudan since independence.

Last month more than 100 investors from Netherlands and Japan visited South Sudan.
