Floods from heavy rains are affecting thousands in Jonglei and Central Equatoria states since September.
Humanitarian teams have been assessing the needs to flood-affected populations in Duk County, Jonglei State, and Terekeka, Central Equatoria, UNOCHA reported in its South Sudan Weekly Humanitarian Bulletin.In Duk County, some 4,000 individuals affected by floods from 19-23 September were provided with a 15-day food ration and mosquito nets.
In Terekeka, local authorities reported some 1,430 people requiring assistance.
The assessment teams recommended the provision of mosquito nets, seeds, and farming and fishing tools for the population in both counties.
