South Sudan Army accused the Sudan of training, arming and transporting militias that last Saturday attacked Mayom County, in Unity State.

SPLA spokesperson Philip Aguir told journalists today in Juba that the militia forces that attacked Mayom County were trained in South Kordofan, received weapons in Higlig and were transported on SAF tracks to cross into South Sudan.

Col. Aguir added the forces clashed with the SPLA on Friday between Tomur and Tor Abied before they attacked Mayom.

SPLA deputy director of military intelligence, Major General Mac Paul, warned that another militia group led by commander Olony left Kaunyare, in South Kordofan, to attack Kaka and Wado Kona, in Upper Nile.

He said the attack may happen within 24 hours, but the military are monitoring their movements.

Gen Paul added the militia groups came from South Kordofan and While Nile states, in the Sudan.
