An assistant driver was injured in a lorry accident in Tonj town, Warrap State.

David Fujulu, the driver of the lorry, told Don Bosco FM that the accident happened because of three people and some sheep and goats standing in the middle of the road.

He said he had to swerve his lorry against a palm tree to avoid the people and animals on the road and his assistant was injured in the crash.

Traffic police Santino Malic said citizens do not respect the rules and walk in the middle of the road with their animals.

He added that tame animals like goats and sheep sitting on the road do not react when drivers blow their horns.

Officer Malic urged the residents to observe the traffic rules to stop accidents in town.
