Greater Yei counties started today a three-day strategic workshop to plan future actions and prepare a six-month budget to execute them.
UNDP project analyst Droma Kat said the aim of the workshop is to enable the three counties of Morobo, Lainya and Yei River to complete their strategic plans of action, Easter Radio reported.The participants should prepare a six-month transitional budget that would see them until July, when the new fiscal year starts now in South Sudan
Yei River Acting County Commissioner John Mogga said that the workshop intends to regulate and organize the counties’ performance.
He added that planning is critical to achieve progress and build the nation.
Acting Director of planning and budgeting in Central Equatoria ministry of local government, Scopas Mogga, said the Local Government Board organized the two planning workshops in Juba and Yei.
The strategic planning workshop drew more than 30 participants from the three counties of Grater Yei.
