The blessing of Voice of Hope Radio, yesterday in Wau, was confirmed with a huge rain downpour that lasted the whole day.

Bishop Michael Didi, who chairs the social communication department at the Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SCBC), blessed yesterday the last Sudan Catholic Radio Network (SCRN) station to go on air, assisted by Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak of Wau and the state minister for communication Baptist Sebit.

Bishop Deng said Voice of Hope was a great achievement for Wau.

He called on the people to promote the station by listening to it and contributing with programs and suggestions.

He said Voice of Hope is the lastborn of the catholic network and added that he hopes it will come strongly with programs and the church’s teachings.

Minister Sebit congratulated all those who contributed towards the completion of the station and called on the people of Western Bahr El Ghazal to tune to Voice of Hope to get good information.

The minister stressed that it was very important to have another radio station in the state.

He said Voice of Hope will play a great role in informing the people and calling them back to God their Saviour.

Paola Moggi, the SCRN director, attended the event. She congratulated the diocese of Wau for the great efforts and the dedication to bring Voice of Hope on air.

Sister Paola said the completion and the blessing Voice of Hope brings the SCRN mission plan to an end.

Michael Atit, one of Voice of Hope’s staff, saw the blessing as very significant since it is the starting point to nourish a seed that has been planted in communication.

He urged residents of Western Bahr El Ghazal, Warrap and Northern Bahr El Ghazal states to listen to Voice of Hope in 98.65 FM.
