The Gemtel mobille telephone company launched the new dialling code +211 for South Sudan and pledged to offer health and education services in rural communities.
Gemtel’s Chief of Executive Mohamed Ghadfi said the company was thinking of setting up water projects at their base stations, build schools and help hospitals by providing ambulances, Bakhita Radio reported.He added that the company gave out some scholarships to sponsor students to study Information and Communication Technology.
Mr. Mohamed said the network has introduced +211 the new dialling code for Republic of South Sudan and urging their customers to use it in international calls.
He added that old code will be operational for two months only and then switch fully to the new one.
