Nurses working at Juba Teaching Hospital Emergency Ward are overstretched with each one of them taking care of over ten patients.
Nurse Diana Kepsolsol, who is in charge of the ward, told SCR News that her colleagues are overwhelmed with the influx of patients into the section. She explained that there are four nurses in one shift to care for over 50 patients.
Ms. Kepsolsol added that the situation is against the International Nurse Council that recommends six patients per every nurse.
She said patients are lying in the floor due to lack of beds and it makes their work even more difficult.
