The leadership of United Democratic Salvation Front (UDSF) in Lakes State has expressed support for the sack of the party’s national leader putting their weight behind the newly elected chief.
A UDSF General Assembly in Juba early this week with representatives from all the ten states of South Sudan elected Martin Toko as the new national chairman of their party, replacing Joseph Malual Dong.
UDSF-Lakes State Secretary General Abraham Majok Ring Agor told Good News Radio that Mr. Malual was sacked, because he did not return to South Sudan from Khartoum, not even during the historical day of the Independence of South Sudan.
He added that the UDSF General Assembly also expelled Mr. Malual from the party.
Mr. Majok went on to express confidence in the new party leader.
He said Mr. Toko will ensure cooperation between the UDSF and other parties and also with the government of South Sudan.
Mr. Majok reiterated the need for making the UDSF known in South Sudan, calling it as a pro-people party.
The newly UDSF leader, Mr. Toko, is a native of Central Equatoria.
