A former SPLM-DC official revealed that the party has a military wing and it is supporting militias fighting against the Republic of South Sudan.

Yesterday a number of SPLM-DC members announced their resignation from the party, including Secretary General Sandra Bona Malwal, Secretary for Popular and Syndicated Organization Yien Thiang Luony, National Executive Committee Secretary Deng Bior Deng and SPLM-DC Central Equatoria Chairperson Yeka Peter.

Mr. Yeka told Bakhita Radio after a press conference yesterday in Juba that the SPLM-DC is supporting militias against the Republic of South Sudan.

He explained that he resigned from the SPLM-DC together with other members because they do not want to fight their own brothers and sisters after the independence.

Mr. Yeka said the SPLM-DC dissidents are not joining any other party until they know the programmes.

Four SPLM-DC senior members yesterday announced their resignation from the party together with 495 other members from Central and Western Equatoria states.
