Over 1,300 people from Blue Nile State, in Sudan, have fled from the war to Renk, Upper Nile State.
Renk County Commissioner Deng Akuei Kak told Voice of Love FM over the phone that over 1,300 refugees fleeing the war in Damazin, Blue Nile state, have arrived to his county during the last two weeks.The refugees are running for safety from clashes between SPLA-N and Sudan Armed forces that started at the beginning of the month.
Mr. Akuei said the county has reported to the state government to allow NGOs to come to Renk to assist the refugees.
He added refugees lack basic services including shelter and sanitation and the county administration has no means to provide them.
Mr. Akuei said the majority of refugees who fled to Renk County are South Sudanese who lived in Damazin, the capital of Blue Nile.
He said the UN agency for refugees is registering people who run from Blue Nile to Renk.
The commissioner appealed to South Sudanese to show their kindness and assist the refugees from Sudan.
