Corruption is more deadly than civil war because it is not seen and it kills people silently.
This is the view Francis Bassan from the South Sudan Anti-corruption Commission shared with Emmanuel Radio.Mr. Bassan said the vice of corruptions is invisible and complicated to detect.
He added that it is very difficult to know who is corrupt until investigations are carried out while in war the enemy is very clear.
Mr. Bassan explained that when hospitals fail to get drugs or get expired drugs due to corruption, patients die as a consequence.
The anti-corruption official made these statements yesterday after the official opening of a five-day workshop in Torit.
He lamented that corruption witnesses many times are not willing to come forward and stand before the court.
Mr. Bassan added that the workshops organized by the Anti-Corruption Commission prepare the people to support its work by providing information on corrupt practices.
The workshop attracted representatives from civil society organizations, government officials, religious leaders, UN and other NGOs, and media.
