All members of the Church have an active role to play in the building of the country together with the Lord who blesses the efforts.

Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro of Juba told the bishops, heads of diocese and Church personnel and partners at this morning’s mass that all of them have a role to play in the building of the nation and of the Church.

He added that the bishops’ meeting was part of the process of church and nation building.

He explained that the leaders of the Catholic Church in South Sudan met to find new ways to play their role in the country, assisted by the Lord.

Archbishop Lukudu said there are difficulties but the bishops, clergy, religious, laity and partners are the means of salvation of South Sudan through their service.

He added that the Church members have to keep their hope alive despite of challenges they meet.

Archbishop Lukudu said the Church is not perfect and it has still a lot to do.

He recognized that women have a continuous role to play in the life of the Church and of the country.

Archbishop Lukudu added that the Virgin Mary is an example how to build the Church and the country and South Sudan should renew its devotion to the Mother of God.
