A qualitative study carried out in 52 locations across South Sudan showed that people expect extensive development in their areas in the next two years.
Tracy Cook, the Senior Adviser for Southern and East Africa for National Democratic Institute, explained that most people in this country want extensive development within a short time.She said people want to see major changes in their respective states within the next two years.
Ms. Cook explained that the participants will be patient if the process of deciding where development can be achieved is fair.
She added that the participants want a democratic and peaceful nation and a government that listens to their issues and finds solutions.
Ms. Cook said the participants expressed the need for an open and honest government that manages the country’s resources responsibly.
