The Catholic University of South Sudan is registering a high influx of students in search of a degree.

The Catholic University is one of the few private institutions offering academic degrees to young men and women across the country in its campuses of Juba and Wau.

Academic administrator Richard Mirigga told Bakhita Radio that his office received over 600 applications for enrolment this year and admitted 219 new students due to lack of space.

He added that the University Admission Board accepted students with Sudan School Certificate passing percentage over 58.

Students of advance level from Uganda were also accepted.

Mr. Mirigga explained that the Catholic University is in the process getting a piece of land to set up a permanent campus in Juba.

He added that that the initial building works will take three months and the second semester could start in the new installations.

He said the institution has qualified staff and lecturers to cater for all the teaching and all administration activities.

The Catholic University has 407 students in its Juba Campus enrolled on economic studies.

The 29 pioneers should graduate next year.
