The Regional Education Office in Nuba Mountains said it is ready to do the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams in November, 2011.
Acting Director of the regional Education Musa Hussein Kujur told a local radio station that this office is preparing two exams centres.He said the office has ten coaching centres functioning in the region to prepare students for the exams.
He added that the examinations will take place in November and the Kenyan authorities promised to bring the papers to Nuba Mountains on time.
Mr. Hussein added in spite of the instability in the region, the education authorities will find a safe location in October where the candidates can sit for their examinations.
The Education department of the Catholic diocese of El-Obeid announced it has postponed the 2011 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams to next year.
The department explained that its schools were unable to complete the syllabus when they closed in early June due to the war in the region.
