A South Sudan rights group has condemned the recent violence outbreak between Lou Nuer and Murle communities in Jonglei state that left over 600 dead.
Bier Boutros is the executive director of South Sudan Human Rights Society for Advocacy. He told SCR News that such clashes are a human rights and Constitution violation.
He added that it is the duty of law enforcing agents to collect information and stop revenge attacks that are taking too long to be ended.
Mr. Bier said the government has the duty to protect citizens because the Constitution grants the right to security.
He urged the leaders of the conflicting communities to come together and find a lasting solution to the rivalry that claimed thousands of lives.
Mr. Bier called upon the government to form a fact-finding team to investigate the conflicts in the region.
