President Salva Kiir Mayardit issued on Saturday a decree listing the 29 ministries that will make up the first cabinet of the Republic of South Sudan.
Among the 29 ministries, Electricity and Dams, Roads and Bridges, Petroleum and Mining, and National Security with the President’s Office are new.The ministry of Peace and CPA Implementation and the minister without portfolio post have been removed.
The ministry of Justice replaces Legal Affairs, Constitutional Development while the ministry Regional Cooperation becomes Foreign Affairs, SPLA and Veteran Affairs was renamed Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs and Internal Affairs is called now Ministry of Interior.
There were some merges too: Culture, Heritage, Youth and Sports became one ministry as did Investment plus Commerce and Industry and Labour and Public Resources together with Human Resources.
