The UN Development Programme known as UNDP said it will enhance capacities of state institutions in independent South Sudan to them to operate effectively and deliver services.
UNDP director for South Sudan Joe Feneey told SCR News that in the few months after south Sudan’s independence, his agency will help strengthen government structures, support the rule of law and helping the government improve basic services like health and education.Mr. Feeney said that after independence the government of South Sudan will face the challenge to increase family income in order to bring people out of poverty.
Mr. Feneey said the government should work on its infrastructures especially roads and telecommunications to be able to reach people on the grassroots.
