Thousands of faithful turned up at Sacred Heart Tonj Parish, in Warrap State, to celebrate the Holy Spirit yesterday.
Father Cyril Odia told Don Bosco FM that the feast of Pentecost was prepared by a four-day retreat attended by about 400 young people assisted by two preachers.He commended the faithful for the huge turn-up for the Sunday mass.
Fr. Cyril said the celebration of Pentecost in Tonj was a huge success due to the extensive preparation that was carried out.
He urged all the faithful to be generous with their individual gifts from the Holy Spirit for the good of the new nation.
Garinyase, one of the youths, echoed the words of Fr. Cyril saying the Eucharist was very lively, well organized and he had a positive message for his brothers back at home.
The Feast of Pentecost concluded the Easter Season.
