Over 250 Christians yesterday received the sacrament of the Holy Spirit at Nimule’s St. Patrick’s Parish, in Eastern Equatoria.
Five seminarians of the Catholic Diocese of Torit were among the recipients of Confirmation.The event coincided with the celebration of Pentecost.
Akena Denis, Radio Emmanuel reporter based in Nimule, gave the details.
He said the Vicar general of Torit Fr. Celestino Muras presided over the celebration.
Fr. Muras urged Christians to bear fruits of the Holy Spirit and live in peace.
He added that he was aware of a conflict between the people of Nimule and internally displaced persons.
Fr. Muras urged IDPs to respect Nimule residents.
Fr. Muras also reminded the Christians in Nimule that the Independence celebration will be prepared with a novena that starts with a day of fasting and ends with a common meal where people will recall the struggle of South Sudan.
