EASTERN EQUATORIA STEPS UP PREPARATIONS FOR INDEPENDENCE CELEBERATIONS

A seven-member steering committee has intensified preparations for the celebrations of South Sudan Independence in Eastern Equatoria.

Paul Napwon, the chairperson of the organizing committee, told Emmanuel Radio that his team held several meetings and it is finalizing the programme of activities and budget for Independence Day

The independence steering committee decreed by Governor Louis Lobong Lojore is made up of six persons that chair different subcommittees under the leadership of Mr. Napwon.

Mr. Napwon said the different subcommittees deal with security, services, transport and accommodation, traditional dances and information.

The state is building a pavilion at Torit’ Freedom Square to accommodate guests during the Independence celebration.
