The promises made by the government to offer free during the interim period made communities unwilling to pay school fees.
Khalid Khojali is the schools supervisor at Eldo Payam, in Nuba Mountains of South Kordofan. He told Voice of Peace Radio that the local community is eager to contribute towards the building of classrooms and teachers’ houses.However, he added that they do not want to hear about payment of school fees.
Mr. Khalid explained that school fees and pregnancies are responsible for the high rate of dropouts in his payam.
He added that many orphans leave the school because nobody pays their school fees.
Eldo payam is one of the localities of Kauda, in Nuba Mountains.
