Eastern Equatoria governor has alerted citizens to be on the watch for suspicious elements in the area.
Louis Lobong Lojore made this statement today at his office after returning from a study tour to Ghana, Emmanuel Radio reported.The governor was briefed on the state of security of Eastern Equatoria state including a report on movement of suspicious armed people in Magwi County.
Wildlife, hotels and tourism state minister George Echom Ekeno told the press that some unidentified armed people were spotted near Magwi town on Sunday and it cause panic among residents.
He said the armed strangers wearing military cloths were seen by a man who was burning charcoal in the forest.
Mr. Echom added that Magwi County Commissioner ordered the organized forces to pursue the strangers.
He said there was no clear information about the armed strangers as everything remained as rumours.
Mr. Echom said he got the news about the incident when he reached Magwui on the way back from Nimule.
He was leading a team of ministers, advisors and security officials to settle an issue involving over 4,000 heads of cattle of internal displaced persons in Nimule.
