The community of Yei River County yesterday held a conference on emergency humanitarian aid for the people of Abyei who were displaced by the northern occupation of the contested area.
The chairman for the humanitarian aid for the people of Abyei in Yei River County, Monday Moi, told Easter Radio the aim of the conference was to gather and send help to the suffering people of Abyei.Mr. Moi said the contribution depends on the willingness of the citizens adding that it will be in form of cash and in kind.
He urged the citizens to support the people of Abyei because they part of South Sudan adding that the official day for starting the contribution is tomorrow for the churches and Monday for other institutions.
The conference was attended by seventeen participants who were collecting the support from all the departments in the County.
