Some minibuses drivers in Juba are complaining about soaring fuel prices saying they make the public transports business unprofitable.

At Tiba Petroleum Station in Juba town this morning one litre of diesel cost five pounds, but other petrol station are charging 5,50 or even 6,00 pounds.

Sunday James drives a minibus on the Juba-Melekiya line. He told SCR News that high fuel prices have affected transport business in Juba town.

He said 20 litres cost him 125 Pounds and it does not last the whole day due to bad roads.

Mr James added that the drivers and bus collectors get nothing at the end of day because all the money goes to fuel and to foreign bus owners.

He urged the government to reduce fuel price or increase bus fares to two Pounds.

Chol Deng Koul, driving on the Juba -Ministries road said he gets nothing after he pays for fuel, conductor and the boss.

Mr. Deng added that the drivers alone cannot increase bus fees on their own because they do not have permission.
