The South Sudan Development Plan has introduced a Cash Transfer social welfare package to vulnerable families with children under five.

GoSS Minister of Gender, Child and Social Welfare Agnes Kwaje Losuba said the package was intended for destitute families to be able to provide food and send their children to school.

She added that the Cash Transfer will cover all children in South Sudan, including those living in the streets.

Ms. Lasuba defended the package will encourage families to have more children.

She said there are development partners ready to support the project.

The minister explained that the monitoring system will avoid malpractices and identify who does or does not benefit from the package.

South Development Plan was laid down in a two-day workshop that ended this evening in Juba.

The plan will focus on capacity building that is essential for South Sudan’s immediate state building goals during the 2011 to 2013 period.
