Eastern Equatoria state minister of Humanitarian Affairs and disaster management, from the National Congress Party, has officially crossed to the SPLM in honour of the SPLA Day.
Beneya Benjamin Kitara said he defected with effect from the SPLA Day.Mr. Kitara said that SPLA deserves credit from the people of South Sudan for their persistence in the struggle since 1983.
He described the SPLA as the saviour of southerners that brought the people out of a long suffering from the hands of the Khartoum regime.
Before his defection, Mr. Kitara was appointed to the state cabinet as a NCP representative for power equality in as Eastern Equatoria state.
