A secondary school teacher decried the huge influx of returnee students into secondary schools, describing it as great challenge to the education administrations.

George Kenyi, a teacher in Juba Day Secondary School, told Bakhita Radio that the flocking of returnee students into Juba after the referendum poses serious administrative challenges.

He called upon the governments of South Sudan and the state authorities to share the responsibilities brought about after the overwhelming vote for secession in the January plebiscite.

Mr. Kenyi acknowledged that all children have the right to education.

He said lack of education contributed greatly to the long civil war in the country because southerners were looked as illiterate people and did not need to be consulted by the ruling elites.

Mr. Kenyi called for a joint effort from parents, teachers and government to educate the new nation.
