Sudan Church leaders are discussing issues ranging from the Comprehensive Peace Agreement to security across South Sudan.

Sudan Council of Churches (SCC) Secretary General Ramandan Chan told Bakhita Radio that the Council called for the Sudan Church Leaders Forum to identify issues that have negative impact on both the North and South Sudan and try to find amicable solutions together with the role of the Churches.

Rev. Chan explained that the SCC wants to encourage the governments of Juba and Khartoum to work in favour of their citizens on issues of Constitution and security among others.

Rev. Chan said Church leaders would also discuss pending issues between the north and the south concerning the popular consultations in Blue Nile and Nuba Mountains, the Abyei referendum and violence in Darfur to lead the two partners to engage in peaceful solutions.

He added that the SCC wishes a peaceful co-existence between North and South Sudan after July 9.
