Fake one Sudanese pound bills that have been rejected by traders found their way into Church’s offertory collections.
Some Christians dumped the notes known locally as AG Pound in the Church offertory plates, although the legitimacy of the money was doubtful, Emmanuel Radio reported.The person in charge of Sunday announcements said at the end of yesterday’s mass in Torit that it is not right to give to God what does not have any value like the AG one pound notes.
Business came to a stand in Torit on Friday when fears hit the town about the counterfeit pound notes in circulation.
Consumers could not purchase commodities with one pound notes as most traders rejected the money fearing it was fake.
