A coalition of civil society organizations said yesterday it suspects chemical weapons were used during this week’s attacks in Abyei.
John Andruga told the press yesterday in Juba that the there were reports of bodies of victims turning into charcoal without no apparent reason.He urged the UN and the international community to form a fact finding mission to investigate the alegations.
Mr. Andruga accused UNAMIS of taking sides in the Abyei conflict.
He added that the peacekeepers should explain what is happening in the ground.
More than one hundred people were killed and many more injured while thousands were displaced after fresh clashes broke out in Abyei on Sunday.
