Ustaz Mabor said that he received his appointment from the Ministry of Education in Juba after being recommended by Lakes State Minister of Education, adding that he is yet to meet the former headmaster before he can officially assume his responsibilities.

He confessed that there are many challenges awaiting him, including lack of food, teachers and books. He promised to try his best to improve the institution.

Ustaz Mabor also said that the school has delayed to open due to lack of food, stating that the new academic year should have started on February 14.

Regarding the challenge of learning space, he suggested that the school administration limits this year’s intake to 200 students.

Meanwhile, Garnob Makur, a candidate at Rumbek Secondary School, welcomed the new head teacher, adding that he expects him to duly address some of the issues affecting the school like providing teachers and fencing the school compound.

He also suggested that the school be put under Lakes State government, explaining that the Government of South Sudan is not available to listen to their grievances.
