The presidents of North and South Sudan will meet to agree on post-referendum citizenship arrangements for Southerners living in the North.

GoSS Vice-president Riek Machar Teny told academicians today that citizenship rights for South Sudanese living in the north are the main sticking point in post-referendum negotiations and the issue was referred to the Presidency for resolution.

Dr. Machar added that the North should give unconditional rights for southerners wishing to live there, because the Nortj has been their home.

He said Southerners in the North should not be without citizenship.

Dr. Machar revealed that post-referendum negotiations will resume next week adding that talks have shown improvement in most issues.
