Members from the National Congress Party with seats in South Sudan assemblies face uneasiness about their positions in the new nation.
Hassan Urbano Alex, Eastern Equatoria MP on the NCP ticket, expressed doubts over the continued operation of the party in South Sudan after independence.He told Emmanuel Radio that the NCP’s future in South Sudan was not clear.
Mr. Urbano said he hoped that the committee entrusted with preparations for the South Sudan Constitution would form a council of parties to register all the existing political forces in the south and others that will come after independence.
NCP, the ruling party in North Sudan, boasts a handful of supporters and sympathizers in South Sudan.
