The meeting of last Tuesday was chaired by governor Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro, Bakhita Radio reported.

He briefed the developing partners on the security situation of the state which is calm at the moment.

The partners shared their work plans and achievements in Western Equatoria between December 2010 and 2011.

The United Nation Organization for Coordination on Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) urged the state government to hold a humanitarian coordination forum in order to discuss with the partners the gaps and challenges they faced.

Ruger Kahwa, who coordinates UNOCHA in Western Equatoria, said the major problem the agency faced was the gathering the returnees for assessment after they leave for their final destinations.

Mr. Kagwa added that they discussed with the authorities how to assess the returnees in the way station in Yambio upon arrival to verify their exact numbers in the state.

He pointed out that Western Equatoria State received 787 returnees from the North.
