Juba residents expressed various views over the expected new name for Southern Sudan.
GoSS spokesman Barnaba Marial Benjamin said the name of the new state is likely to be South Sudan.Ganun Victor told Bakhita Radio that the name of the new state should remain South Sudan because the name holds interim constitutional rights brought in by the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
Suzan Anong Lomoro said the name South Sudan should be replaced with a new name.
Anthony Suru said South Sudan should remain as last option after failing to find a different name for the new nation.
Mr. Marial asserted that the public will be given the opportunity to debate name they prefer to be labelled on the new nation.
