A local artist and designer sustains the dream to establish a museum in south Sudan after the region gains its independent.

Omar Sebit Farjala told Bakhita Radio that together with other artists he plans to collect items including bows and arrows, calabash, drums and spears in the countryside to be placed at the Museum.

Mr. Sebit explained that the cultural heritage exhibition would allow southerners to recall their roots and to attract tourists and said it was a pity South Sudan did not have a single museum.

Mr. Sebit said the museum will restore the history and culture of south Sudan.

He lamented that northerners deprived southerners of their cultures for the last 50 years of civil conflicts in the country.

Mr. Sebit drew and designed much of the referendum campaign materials, including posters and T-shirts.
