The Governor of Eastern Equatoria paid his first visit to Chukudum, in Budi County, since his election in April of last year.
Governor Louis Lobong Lojore was received by Commissioner Charles Adtul, ministers, Members of Parliament and a large crowded who waited for hours for his arrival, Emmanuel Radio reported.As a sign of traditional hospitality, a bull was slaughtered and the governor jumped over the animal while it was still kicking.
Mr. Lobong walked about 600 meters on foot to the office of the Commissioner where he briefed the county leaders on the reasons for his visit.
The governor then proceeded to visit one polling centre in Chukudum town and later addressed a large crowd at the Catholic Parish Pastoral Centre.
Mr. Lobong asked those who registered but have not voted yet to go and cast their vote immediately even as he was still speaking.
The governor announced the construction of the new County Headquarters in Budi.
