KAPOETA SOUTH COMMISSIONER CALLS CITIZEN TO VOTE

On the first day of the historical referendum Kapota South County Commissioner led by example by casting his vote exactly at eight this morning in Kapoeta town.

Commissioner Martin Ngoyya urged the residents of his county to come out and vote to determine their future.

Mr. Ngoyya said the referendum was proceeding well in his county although he admitted that there were some cattle conflicts.

He appealed to the three communities of Buya, Didinga and Toposa to refrain from cattle raiding.

Meanwhile the referendum exercise this morning in Kapoeta town saw a low women turn-up during morning hours as observed by MP Natire Ann Lotiman.

Ms. Lotiman encouraged the younger women to take part in the vote.

There are six polling centres in Kapoeta town and the voting process has been peaceful all over.
