The commissioner of Tonj South County said everything was ready for the vote and urged people to get ready for the referendum on Sunday.

Akec Tong Alieu predicted that 98 percent that had registered will go to vote, Don Bosco Radio reported

He added that a hundred policemen are on stand by with two vehicles to maintain security and protect ballot boxes until the end of voting.

Mr. Tong said cattle camp leaders agreed to graze their cows near the town during the vote.

He added that those in cattle camps will get transport to the referendum centres.

Mr. Tong said his county had the highest number of registered voters.

He thanked the women because they registered more than men.

Mr. Tong noted that women suffered a lot during civil war in Sudan, being forced to carry bundles of firewood on their heads which were heavier than voting wisely on Sunday.

He reminded the youths to keep their voter cards safe.

Mr. Tong said that South Sudan heroes and heroines, who died during the long struggle, deserved that people voted for freedom.
